Marin Countywide EV Acceleration Strategy Update

Christine O’Rourke of the Marin Climate and Energy Partnership will update us on the progress of rolling out the Marin Countywide EV Acceleration Strategy. Cities and towns throughout Marin are now reviewing the plan and considering which of the actions it presents to prioritize for implementation in each jurisdiction. The results will be critical for helping reduce over half of Marin’s greenhouse gas emissions and achieving success of Climate Action Plans in the county.”

24/7 renewable energy primer

Peninsula Clean Energy’s plan to achieve 24/7 renewable energy matches renewable energy supply to customer electricity use on an hour by hour rather than annual basis. In 2021 Peninsula Clean Energy reported 5 lbs of carbon dioxide equivalent per megawatt-hour (lbs/MWh) on an annual basis but would have reported a more accurate 222 lbs/MWh on an hourly basis. Hourly matching of renewable energy supply to use will nearly eliminate its greenhouse gas emissions by 2025. CAWG member Dan Segedin will provide a primer on 24/7 renewable energy.
