Who We Are

We are a dedicated group of environmentally conscious, scientifically informed individuals who serve as the countywide authority on environmental policy. Our members value how MCL has been our voice in preserving Marin's amazing natural assets, and share a deep appreciation for biodiversity in a healthy ecosystem.

What We Do

Since 1934, MCL has worked to acquire and preserve some of Marin's defining public lands. We advocate for the treasured natural and cultural resources of Marin, its scenic and recreational open spaces, and pastoral working lands. Our role is to study and analyze issues; propose policies; educate and mobilize citizens; and monitor outcomes.

Get Involved

We can't do our work without you. Whether you join our efforts as an event volunteer, engage in our committee initiatives or provide much needed contributions to keep our work going, everyone who cares about Marin's environment has a part to play. Now, is the time to act!

MCL is one of the few groups that considers the entire picture - at the nexus of science and policy - and does the hard work to piece it together.
